"Chatting with Ls" Dance Choreographer

2Ls:First off, your dancing is impeccable! When did you first take an interest to dancing and how old were you?

SB: Well ever since i was little my parents told me i use to rock me head to the music in my car seat when they played the radio. i cant remember that far back but i do remember being about 4 or 5 watching michael jacksons videos and would just stare at the tv for hours trying to copy his moves lol.

2Ls: How did you first get discovered as a choreographer?

SB: I think the first time people really saw my choreography was when i worked with Cheri Denni for her "Portrait Of Love" music video. That was one of the first major things that i choreographed.

2Ls: Did you only take up hip hop dancing? If not maybe Jazz, tap, etc?

SB: Well im mainly a hip hop dancer, but there's not a day that goes by that i wish i was teqnically trained. sometimes i wish i could point my feet so bad! but i do love taking jazz funk classes and faking my way through it! lol

2Ls: Who was the first artist you worked with?

SB: The first major artist i worked with was Tiffany Evans. i was booked to do her "Promise Ring" video. After that i was on tour with her for a good 3 years off and on! but i love Tiff to death...thats my little sis!

2Ls: Who all have you worked with so far?

SB: Well ive been very blessed to work with alot of recognizable names so far. Ive gotten the chance to work with miley cyrus, diddy, keri hilson, black eyed peas, beyonce, britney spears, young jeezy, electrik red, and many others.

2Ls: How was it working with Beyonce?

SB: Well hands down the shortest time ive ever spent with an artist and the most ive learned from working with any artist has to go to Beyonce. Shes amazing, thats pretty much all i can say. So down to earth, humble, hard working, kind..shes amazing! I would love to work with her again.

2Ls: What's in your ipod right now?

SB: Too much music! its time for a new iPod..ive been bumpin Electrik Reds "how to be a lady vol. 1" album ever since it came out! please go out and support and buy the album..it bumps from start to finish! The Dreams album is dope as well. But mostly random stuff like some unreleased Keri Hilson songs, i love Guccie Mane and OJ Da Juiceman (lol) and some other random stuff.

2Ls: Do you prefer doing behind the scenes choreography or being an actual backup dancer?

SB: I love to be behind the scenes actually. Dont get me wrong id love to dance in another video but hey if can choreograph a music video thats even better to me..less stress too lol.

2Ls: What advice would you give to young dancers trying to make it to
choreography in the future?

SB: My advice is always the same to everyone. Stick to what you know and what your comfortable with. When people look at my choreography i want them to say in the back of they're heads "yup thats Seans choreography!" try not to choreography like someone else. Its always good to have inspiration, but thats all it should be, dont let it be a crutch or a stepping stone to create something thats supposed to be YOUR OWN. Not alot of people who can dance have the drive to choreograph so i always appluad anyone who wants to take that route.

2Ls: What can we expect from Sean bankhead in the future?

SB: Big big things hopefully! lol. Im actually working on producing and co-choreographing a MAJOR movie right now which is huge for me!

2Ls: Anything else you'd like the viewers to know about you or your
work?

SB: Thats pretty much everything about me! I just want to say thank you to any one and everyone who as ever left me a message on my youtube or myspace or facebook or anything saying they like what i do! it means so much that people can be encouraged at watching my choreography or a piece ive done. Im only 20 and i feel so blessed to be in a great place in my life and to be surrounded by amazing and talented people is such a blessing!
